Is this true and, if so, what are the main problems and likely repair costs? One thing which concerns us is that the boiler does not appear to have been serviced since it was installed in 2007 (new build).

Dec 17, 2021 · Boilers that are 8-10 years old are certainly not as advanced as new boilers. We already know there is a diverter valve fault. Get the engineer to check the rest of the boiler parts thoroughly. If there is anything else majorly wrong with the boiler, it's worth considering a new boiler. Oct 16, 2021 · You can connect Vaillant boiler and Nest (3rd Gen) using OpenTherm via VR33 module (personally I made it with AtmoTEC Pro combi boiler). VR33 was made for Belgium and the Netherlands, but you can use it anywhere. Consider that Vaillant VR33 costs bit more than absolutely same modules made under other trade marks like AWB or Saunier Duval.

When the heating switches on via timer the boiler won't fire because the pressure gauge is flashing showing only 1bar of pressure, the red light is also flashing. If I open the water supply valve the pressure rises and immediately the boiler fires up and will run all day.
