![]() The Hottentots Holland Dramatic Society is proud to present the off-Broadway classic musical, "ANNIE", in association with SHIRAZ - directed by Darryl Spijkers, with choreography by Sumé Lötter. Show dates: 13 – 28 JUNE 2014 at the Playhouse, Somerset West Be part of this amazing musical production. Rehearsals will be scheduled per scene and group so that no time is wasted. Music rehearsals take place from late FEB until mid April after which dance and acting rehearsal commence. All rehearsals will take place in Somerset West. AUDITION DETAILS
Children’s Roles: Girls aged 6 - 14 Annie, Molly, Pepper, Duffy, July, Tessie, Kate and other orphans.
Male Roles: 3 Leading men Oliver ‘Daddy’ Warbucks, Billionaire businessman who opens his home – and finally his heart – to Annie Daniel ‘Rooster’ Hannigan, Miss Hannigan’s no-good brother, out for a quick buck Franklin D. Rooselvelt, President of the USA and friend to Daddy Warbucks
Female Roles: 3 Leading ladies Grace Farrell, Daddy Warbuck’s faithful secretary who loves Annie from the start Lily St. Regis, Rooster’s girlfriend, is smarter than she appears from the name of the hotel Miss Hannigan, The orphanage matron, disillusioned and comic. Hates children but fond of alcoholic beverages.
Chorus Roles: 7 men, 11 women A male and female chorus of all ages is required. There are many cameo and solo singing and speaking roles in the chorus. All are in American / British accents. Roles include: Judge Brandeis, Bert Healy, The Boylan sisters, Drake, Mrs Pugh, Lt. Ward, Dog catcher, Harold Ikes, Perkins, Howe. The chorus performs various roles but certain parts can remain specialised.
Dancer Roles: New York City Parade, 20th century Fox performers, Servants, White House Staff A sound ability in modern dance and/or ballet will secure a selected group of nimble boys and girls place to add vibrancy to selected musical numbers.
